How to use additives

Just by adding a small amount of additive to our clear powder when over coating a base colour you can create a metallic/flip finish!

Step 1

Powder coat and cure part with a base colour, note dark colours tend to produce the best results.

Step 2

Make sure you have left an exposed area to attach your earth lead to for the second stage of this process.

Step 3

Prepare metallic mix - Add 1 tub of additive to 1/4kg of powder, note the more you add the more reflective the finish.

Step 4

Seal bag (leave plenty of air in) then shake for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Attach earth lead to bare metal area.

Step 6

Fill powder coating gun with metallic mix and spray part as normal, note it will coat white and cure back to translucent.

Step 7

Cure part as normal at 180 deg c for 10 min's and remove from heat source, part is now complete.
